Knighton Town

Looking Down The Narrows

Knighton has a population of about 3,000, and is well-served by local business, including a baker, butcher, three grocery stores, two galleries, a shoe shop and a hardware store, several coffee houses and four pubs.

Knighton was historically one of the most important drovers’ towns and busiest livestock markets in the country. Although somewhat smaller than in earlier times, there continues to be a weekly sheep market, and a cattle market once a fortnight.Weekly Sheep Market

If you are lucky enough to visit during the August Bank Holiday, you cannot fail to witness the town erupting as the annual Carnival parade takes to the streets.
